The GWO Advanced Rescue Training (ART) is an advanced rescue training program developed by the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) to equip wind energy professionals with essential rescue techniques for responding to emergencies in wind turbine environments. This course ensures that all personnel working on wind energy projects, both onshore and offshore, are well-prepared to handle rescue operations, surpassing the basic GWO Working at Height safety standards.

Practical training for professionals

Throughout the course, participants will engage in practical exercises that reinforce the theoretical knowledge provided. Instructors guide participants through realistic rescue scenarios, enabling them to demonstrate their understanding of rescue protocols and equipment usage. This interactive approach ensures that trainees not only learn the techniques but can effectively apply them in real-world rescue situations.

The GWO Advanced Rescue Training course includes:

  • Hub, Spiner, Inside Blade Rescue: Learn how to safely rescue an injured person from the hub section of a wind turbine generator.
  • Nacelle, Tower, and Basement Rescue: Gain the skills necessary to perform rescue operations from the nacelle, tower, and basement sections of wind turbines.
  • Single Rescuer Rescue (Hub, Spinner, and Inside Blade): Master solo rescuer techniques for confined spaces, including the hub, spinner, and inside the blades of the turbine.
  • Single Rescuer Rescue (Nacelle, Tower, and Basement): Develop the ability to conduct single rescuer operations in challenging areas like the nacelle, tower, and basement.
