Hands-on training for industry professionals

Throughout the course, participants will actively participate in hands-on exercises reinforcing the theoretical concepts. Instructors will guide each participant through practical scenarios such as load slinging, signalling techniques, and coordination during lifting operations.This interactive approach ensures that trainees learn and can effectively apply their skills in real-world situations within wind turbine environments.

The GWO SLS course content includes:

Slinging and Signalling Safety: Introduction to lifting operations, roles and responsibilities, and safety awareness when working as a slinger signaller.Regulations and Documentation: Understanding relevant legislation, lifting plans, and procedures for safe lifting operations.Lifting Equipment and Accessories: Overview of lifting gear such as slings, shackles, and hooks, including correct selection and use.Pre-use and Post-use Inspection: Inspection of lifting accessories and loads before and after lifting operations.Slinging Techniques: Methods for attaching loads, understanding weight, centre of gravity, and load stability.Signalling and Communication: Use of hand signals and radio communication to guide crane movements safely.Safe Lifting Operations: Carrying out routine lifts in accordance with lift plans and known hazards.
